  1. Depression is from a Latin word that means “to press down”.
  2. What we learn from Psalm 42
  3. 1. Human beings have been fighting battles with depression for a long time.
  4. 2. This is a battle fought with God and others.
  5. It’s not wrong to experience depression. Rather depression is a sign that something is wrong.
  6. The way to help others is to be burden carriers and not fixers.
  7. Sometimes, what gets in the way of the church being able to help somebody deal with depression is a spirit of judgment.
  8. What people need is for people to come alongside them, get familiar with the burden and help them carry it to Jesus.
